Recap: MommyCon Chicago

Just over a week ago we hit the road to Chicago to show the Flipping Holder to parents at MommyCon Chicago.  This was our first major show and we had no idea what kind of reaction we would receive.  When all the dust settled, we were overwhelmed by the positive response including many thankful moms and dads who loved that the Flipping Holder means they can use pouches for the on-the-go feeding convenience without the mess!

The great benefit of interacting directly with customers during a 3-day event is that we receive immediate feedback and get to see our product in action.  Here’s just a few looks at some of the happy kiddo customers.

As we demonstrated the Flipping Holder, we heard several questions (and received a few tips) from multiple parents.  We can only suspect that other parents share in these same questions, so we gathered them up and put down the answers in writing.  Here’s our MommyCon Flipping Holder FAQs:

  • Is it two different holders – one for food pouches and one for juices?

Nope.  It is ONE holder that solves BOTH messes.  The Flipping Holder stands upright to hold food pouches, and FLIPS OVER to hold juices.

  • Does it fit ALL food pouches like the larger reusable pouches?

Yes.  The holder fits them all, even the oversized reusable pouches!  There are different spout styles on different brands, but this video shows how they all fit:

And for reusable pouches, you just insert them into the holder and fold up the ziploc bottom like so (pouch shown is Nourish With Style – aff):

  • Can’t my child just pull the food pouch out of the holder?

Nope.  The top of the Flipping Holder is designed to create a pressure-lock on the pouch spouts.  Be sure to push the pouches into the holder firmly, and you’d child will not be able to get them out!

  • But how do I get all the food out of the pouch if we can’t squeeze it?

Nearly all pouches will empty with the child sucking the food through the spout.  But, if some food lingers at the bottom, check out this video on how you can easily help them out:

  • How does it hold juices?

Just flip the empty holder over so the open bottom becomes an open top.  Slide your juices in the opening that is now at the top of the holder like so:

  • Is it easy to clean?

Yes.  For two reasons.  First, the child eats from the pouch spout or the juice straw which means the holder does not generally get dirty and therefore you can use it several times before it needs to be washed.  Second, the top is flat and easy to wash either by hand or the top rack of the dishwasher.

  • Where is it made?

The good ol’ USA.  That’s right, we feel fortunate to support small businesses here in the midwest by manufacturing and distributing locally in Iowa and Minnesota.  And fear not, the product is BPA and DEHP free!

  • Where can I buy it?

The Flipping Holder is sold on our website www.LCeeeDesigns.com/shop.  It’s also on Amazon (aff).  We are also working on a list of authorized retailers that will be added to our site soon!

  • Where was this two years ago?

A mere idea in my head 🙂  We designed the tooling and started manufacturing in 2016.  The Flipping Holder hit the market August of 2016.

  • I’ve used the hinged pouch holders and silicone spouts for food pouches in the past.  How is this different?

The Flipping Holder was created to solve multiple problems with one easy solution.  It is the only holder on the market that stops mess from BOTH food pouches and juices.  None of the other products do that.  It’s also the only product to work with all food pouches, juice boxes, and juice pouches.

Here’s a chart we put together comparing the food pouch options:

One of our wonderful moms shared a helpful trick.  On the go, you can just hang the Flipping Holder by a handle like so:
